Caryn lives in Western North Carolina and studied Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, graduating in 2005.

She’s had a wide variety of jobs, from working in disaster areas with AmeriCorps, to teaching first aid and CPR to third responders and English to South Korean kindergartners, to many flavors of retail sales associate and secretary. She was formally assessed in her thirties with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Caryn is especially interested in disaster preparedness, societal collapse, found families, and neurodivergent stories.
